LEAFBONES ORIGINS

The title “Leafbones” arose from simply combining two loves: leaves and bones.

While studying art, Michaela focused the majority of her studies on bones while working at her college’s vertebrate biology museum.

This place was heaven, with cases and drawers full of all manner of specimens for study.

In addition to scientific illustrations of bones, she enjoyed many botanical studies. These often helped her in plant biology courses.
